Divisional Sets 2024, a set of 8 coins dedicated to the San Marino Coat of Arms and a set of 9 coins completed by a coin devoted to Butterflies

SAN MARINO, 13 May 2024 – On 16 May, the Philately and Numismatics Division of the San Marino Post Office will issue two sets of Brilliant Uncirculated coins. The divisional set 2024 with eight denominations will be available in a “numibox” box dedicated to the Coat of Arms of the Republic of San Marino, the main feature is the reverse of the 1-cent coin in its most recent edition adopted through Constitutional Law No. 1 of 22 July 2011.
The divisional set 2024 with nine denominations will be enhanced by the 5 Euro silver coin Brilliant Uncirculated “Butterflies”. The “Butterflies” coin depicts, on the obverse, a Zerynthia Cassandra resting on grass and in the background the Three Towers, on the tops of which are the three feathers, symbols of the San Marino Republic. Around the top of the coin is the inscription “REPUBBLICA DI SAN MARINO”, to the right the letters CP, initials of Chiara Principe, creator of the design, and to the left the inscription M.B. INC., initials of Marta Bonifacio, the engraver. On the reverse is the Zerynthia Cassandra resting on a leaf of an Aristolochia rotunda plant. Around the upper left is the inscription ‘FARFALLE’; to the right the letter ‘R’, identifying the Mint of Rome, in the bottom center the value 5 EURO and the year 2024.
The divisional sets will be available as of the day of issue at www.dfn.sm.
