With a sketch by Stefania Saragoni, the AASFN wants to honour the eighty years that have passed since the first run of the little white and blue train on the San Marino - Rimini route. On the 2.64 cent stamp, the little train, drawn in its graceful linearity, is not simply meant to recall a nostalgic past, but to become the ‘engine’ of a renewed desire for friendship and collaboration between the two neighbouring states. It is no coincidence, in fact, that in the proposed leaflet, the AASFN has decided to offer a brief narrative of what was once described as a true jewel of engineering. Eighty years of history and a journey that, at a distance of time, is renewed, keeping faith with that original incipit: to go beyond borders by discovering beauty and treasures.
