The Council Hall of the XII, a small representation hall in sixteenth-century style inside the Palazzo Pubblico, houses one of the most famous images of the Saint Marino, depicted as he blesses Mount Titano. Traditionally attributed to Guercino, the painting has recently been recognized as the work of his student and collaborator Bartolomeo Gennari (1594-1661). The famous portrait of the saint has been reproduced on the 20 cent coin since 2002.
