Four stamps in honour of Gina Lollobrigida, actress, sculptor, painter, photographer and FAO ambassador.
On 23 January 2007, the series “Storia di un'artista” (Story of an Artist) was named after her: it features a self-portrait in red chalk created in 1987 during her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (value €0.65). The other stamps depict her as a photojournalist with “Potato Seller” taken in Benares, India, in 1973 (value €0.85); as a sculptor with “Esmeralda”, an unpublished bronze work created in 2002, the statue recalls the 1956 film “Notre Dame de Paris”, in which she starred alongside Anthony Quinn (value €1.00); ambassador for the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations, depicted in March 1990 meeting Mother Teresa of Calcutta (value €3.20).
