‘Made in San Marino'. The series dedicated to the most important and significant production realities of the territory, after the 2012 debut, proceeds with a company that has made gluttony its identifying element. We are talking about La Serenissima, an ancient cake factory active on Mount Titano since 1942. A long history of craftsmanship, made up of experience, manual dexterity and a continuous search for natural, top-quality materials. The €0.70 stamp, like last year's, is produced by the San Marino communication agency B&AR. In the foreground, serving as the base and background of the stamp, it could not fail to include what is considered the typical cake of the Republic of San Marino, the Tre Monti cake, which has been recognised for its characteristics with the Marchio di Origine e Tipicità (Mark of Origin and Typicality) of the Republic's craft products. With an evocative coat of arms, the vignette, in its left field, closes with a reference to the typical cake, indicating its name in effigy. In the centre of the sketch is the company's coat of arms itself, composed of the three towers and three plumes characteristic of the oldest Republic in the world. An indissoluble union between the company and Mount Titano. Seventy years of goodness, skill and creativity underline the Michelotti family's passion for the art of confectionery. Thus, after having been awarded in 2011 by TuttoFood, the showcase par excellence of the best food products, for the Torta Titano, the San Marino Philatelic Company also decided to offer its own public tribute. From artisan workshops to an indented piece of paper. Vehicle and messenger: the taste for tradition and the ecstasy of the palate.
