A philatelic folder paying tribute to the centenary of Associazione Calcio Fiorentina.
Founded in 1926 at the behest of Marquis Luigi Ridolfi Vay da Verrazzano – an entrepreneur, sports executive and a leading figure in Florence at the time – Fiorentina was formed through the merger of Club Sportivo Firenze and Palestra Ginnastica Libertas.
Ridolfi’s project was ambitious: to give the city a team strong enough to compete at the very top of Italian football. A vision that, over the decades, has been fully realised.
From winning its first Coppa Italia – the first trophy in its history, achieved in the 1939–1940 season – to its two Scudetti, not to mention the numerous Coppa Italia titles, Italian Super Cups and historic successes on the European stage, Fiorentina has built a legacy of sporting achievements, great champions and a deep bond with Florence and the millions of supporters scattered across the globe.
