Poste San Marino SpA - Philatelic and Numismatic Division has prepared a special package containing the eight denominations of the divisional coins and two commemorative 2 euro coins from 2025, all in the special proof version. The 2 euro coins commemorate the ‘Holy Year Jubilee 2025 - Pilgrims of Hope’ and the ‘550th anniversary of the birth of Michelangelo’. The obverse and reverse of the eight denominations (2 euro, 1 euro, 50 cent, 20 cent, 10 cent, 5 cent, 2 cent, 1 cent) are the same as the coins currently in circulation. On the obverse of the first commemorative coin, designed by Gabriele Di Maulo, the female figure at the centre of the composition holds a child's hand, symbolising humanity, and is ready to lead him on the pilgrimage; her gaze is directed towards the star, a powerful and universal emblem of guidance. Behind the image of the woman is a stylised anchor, a metaphor for hope and an element evocative of the cross. The obverse of the second commemorative coin, designed by Silvia Petrassi, depicts the centrepiece of the work “Cleopatra”, housed at Casa Buonarroti in Florence, a magnificent pencil drawing made in 1535 for Tommaso de' Cavalieri, a great friend of Michelangelo, considered one of the rare examples of the most intimate and delicate side of Michelangelo's work.
