Proof Divisional coin set + 2 Euro 2016

The Philatelic and Numismatic Office of San Marino offers a divisionary series with both 2 euro commemorative coins in proof version. On the one hand, Donatello, an Italian sculptor, designer and goldsmith, died in Florence on 13 December 1466, considered the father of the Florentine Renaissance, along with Filippo Brunelleschi and Masaccio. His bronze David, now exhibited at the Bargello Museum in Florence and reproduced on the coin, is universally considered one of the greatest masterpieces of the Renaissance. On the other hand, William Shakespeare, considered the most important writer and poet in the English language and one of the most eminent dramatists of the entire western culture. He moves through the historical transition between the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, introducing a new theatrical language and becoming the father of modern theatre. 400 years after his death (23 April 1616) to celebrate his memory, the Republic of San Marino has minted a 2 euro coin, which features the face of the playwright in the foreground.
