The 10 euro silver proof coin commemorates Benvenuto Cellini, a restless and brilliant Florentine artist, who distinguished himself as a goldsmith, sculptor and art writer, on the occasion of the 450th anniversary of his death. The reverse of the coin shows the intense profile of Perseus, hero of Greek mythology, detail of the famous homonymous work by Benvenuto Cellini, kept at the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence.
