Wines of the world

After the Italian wines of 2005 and the European wines of 2007, the AASFN has decided to close the triptych with this new philatelic issue that intends to cross borders and cancel distances. As in previous editions, it is again sketch artist Valerio Pradal who is responsible for the issue. Great companies, fertile territories able to offer men the most precious nectar, are ‘told’ in this sheet by a detail that for each production becomes a distinctive element and a unique path of recognition: the label. Thus, beyond customs, boundless oceans, with these seven stamps we are allowed to fly to the vineyards of California and Chile, alongside the barrels of Canadian and Virginia wineries, in Australia, Argentina and South Africa. A journey of smells and scents, intense desires and professionalism of excellence. A poem by Pablo Neruda, ‘Oda al vino’, in the sidebar is offered as a gift and literary preamble to the ecstasy of the taste buds. And then again Dante, Hemingway and Molière complete the ode to the world wines of 2012, depicted in this particular issue. Labels and words, great states and country traditions.
