10 Euro coin "Gendarmeria"

A tribute to the protagonists who every day guarantee the security and order of the Republic, Poste San Marino celebrates the ‘San Marino Military and Police Corps’ with the new edition of the numismatic series launched in 2024. After the success of the coin dedicated to the Guardia di Rocca, a 10 euro silver coin (proof version) dedicated to the Gendarmerie Corps.
Designed by Antonella Napolione and minted in only 2,500 examples, it is distinguished by the use of chromatic applications that enrich and enhance the uniform depicted on the reverse, giving the coin a strong and recognisable visual identity.
The Gendarmerie Corps, founded in 1842, is responsible for the prevention and suppression of crime, the maintenance of public order, safety and security for citizens, the observance of laws, and disaster and emergency relief.
The obverse depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of San Marino while the reverse depicts a Gendarme in full uniform, with colours applied to the uniform. Black for the jacket, trousers and headgear, red and blue for the feathers of the plume and blue for a detail of the hat and the profile of the jacket. Completing the coin on the upper left are the letter R, identifying the Mint of Rome, the author's name A. NAPOLIONE and the value 10 EURO, at the bottom the initials of Emanuele Ferretti, who supervised the engraving, E.F. INC. and to the right around the word GENDARMERIA and the year of issue 2025.
