The stamps commemorate the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, established by the UN
General Assembly on the 6th of April each year in memory of the inauguration of the first Olympic Games of the modern era in 1896. The athletes depicted are involved in cycling, weightlifting, swimming and horse riding, as a way to talk about integration, collaboration, development and solidarity through the great message that sport has always sent to the world: achieving new goals through determination, teamwork, understanding and fair play.
