The Cassa Edile di Mutualità Sammarinese (Construction Fund), founded in 1963 with the aim of bringing certain rules and social and contractual protections to a then booming sector, accompanied the San Marino building industry in its transition from pre-industrial to modern society. Thanks to its establishment, the representatives of the construction companies succeeded in economising on certain costs through the mutualisation of the same and workers were guaranteed, at the appropriate times, the payment of holiday, Christmas bonus and seniority allowances.
