On the 19th of June 2011, His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI visited the Republic of San Marino: he was welcomed by the Captains Regent, and afterwards he celebrated Holy Mass with all the bishops of Emilia-Romagna. In the afternoon the Holy Father meeted youngsters from the diocese of Pennabilli. San Marino is celebrating the Pastoral Visit by issuing a bronze medal showing on the obverse the portrait of Pope Benedict XVI, with “VISITA PASTORALE DI S.S. BENEDETTO XVI” round the edge.
