10 Euro coin "Ludwig van Beethoven"

The coin commemorates Ludwig van Beethoven, renowned composer and pianist. He is playing the piano and the keyboard recalls the shape of the Moon, referring to his famous sonata “Moonlight Sonata”. He was the last important representative of the Viennese classicism and he is considered one of the greatest and most influential composers of all time. Counted among the greatest geniuses in the history of music, despite the deafness that struck him, he continued to compose, direct and play. He left a fundamental musical production, extraordinary in terms of expressive power and of ability to evoke emotions.
