Luigi Ghirri is internationally acknowledged as one of the great masters of contemporary photography. His photographic work has been widely exhibited and published and is held in collections all over the world.
The postal series reproduces some works from the 1973 photographic project Atlas. Through the process of abstraction performed by photography, the pages of a geographical atlas lose their descriptive function and the work thus conceived enters into the world of signs and imagination.
